interiores do quarto.
no projeto casa.

A very popular alternative for window design is found in the style
developed by American architect and artist Frank Lloyd Wright.
Living
between 1867 and 1959, Wright was another artist that strove to bring
art into the home and work space as functional items. He is most
renowned for his innovations in the field of architecture, bringing
more modern and artistic free-form influences to building design.
Instead of rectangular buildings he developed buildings that blended
with the naturally surrounding environments and also expressed the
purpose of each, be it a home or an art museum or other. The idea was
to bring natural beauty to the functioning form.
This
he also extended to the windows. Referred to by art critics as leaded
glass and by him as light screens, his style was not illustrative,
but retained the function of the window as tool to allow light to
enter the room while the occupants could see out. But he was not
content with a rectangle of clear glass. As was popular in many art
circles of the time he focused on geometric shape designs
accentuating the window form and abstractions based on plants and
landscapes.
These
windows would add artistic beauty to the room but not interfere with
the function of the window as a vision portal. The use of mostly
clear or textured clear glass allowed for more freedom in future
interior design changes of the room. This is a style that I think
still fits into our current social environment of frequent
environmental change. Also the cost of production of this type of
design is a fraction of the cost of a colored illustrative piece.
This is an influential factor in home design.
So
we can see that Frank Lloyd Wright also contributed many great ideas
to window and lamp design. I hope you enjoy this video highlighting
his work and are inspired to beautify your home even more.
